Disney World day 2 – Magic Kingdom and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Our day at EPCOT yesterday turned out just the way we wanted! After falling into bed at 11:00 last night, we were ready for another early morning. Our bus picked us up at 7:05, and we were second in line at the turnstiles of Magic Kingdom by 7:25. It’s funny to see the Park decked out in Halloween decor in August! It gives it a festive atmosphere, even though it is hot and nowhere near fall. Note: I don’t earn commission from any links in this post, but I hope they will be helpful to my readers. Do you like our outfits? At the last minute I decided to make…

Disney World day 1 – EPCOT
Yesterday I was giving my mom a trip report complete with over 600 photos, and she asked me where I got my love of Disney Parks. That made me stop and think…where did I get it? I don’t remember much of my first trip when I was five, but maybe that was the foundation. Note: I don’t earn commission from any links in this post, but I hope they will be helpful to my readers. Anyway, my two oldest girls also got the love of Disney, and we had such a great time on our girls trip this past week! Day one of our vacation found us waking up at…

Magic Kingdom (girls only) Part one – planning
While we love taking the little ones on adventures, and we have, sometimes Mom needs some girl time! That’s why Kelley, Kimberlee, and I decided to take a girls only trip to Disneyworld this summer. Note: I don’t earn commission from any links in this post, but I hope they will be helpful to my readers. We dislike crowds, so we tried to choose a week that nobody fewer than a million people would be there. After perusing myriads of crowd calendars, we chose the week BEFORE Star Wars Land opened. Yes – you read that right. We are purposely missing Star Wars. Not that we don’t like Star Wars!…

Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is a famous waterfall on the border of the USA and Canada. Everybody has heard of it, right? I had heard about it all my life, which is why I wanted to visit and see it in person. But when I went to plan my vacation, I found that I knew almost nothing about it at all! The Niagara River is the border of the state of New York and the Canadian province of Ontario. All of the water in the Great Lakes flows through this river. Did you know that there are actually three different waterfalls that comprise Niagara Falls? About 500 years ago, an obstacle in…

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
It’s billed as America’s only mountain top theme park – and for a good reason! Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is located at 7160 feet above sea level. Which may not seem like a big deal, until you are swinging off the edge of a cliff 1300 feet above the Colorado River! Now I admit, I’ve never been skydiving, but swinging off this cliff was one of the most heart-stopping adventures I’ve taken! Here was my daughter’s reaction. Of course she begged to go again the minute we were off the Glenwood Canyon Flyer! The entrance to the park is actually at the bottom of the cliff, where you board a…

Cruising the Mexican Riviera on the Norwegian Star
Have you ever been on a cruise? If not, you really should try it! I like to think of it as a vacation where somebody plans a party for you every day of the week. Our cruise on the Norwegian Star was no exception! We chose an 8 day Mexican Riviera cruise out of Los Angeles, and drove to the Port of Los Angeles in our minivan. Parking was quick and easy in their parking lot, and the rates were reasonable. Current rates are $19 per day, which is cheaper than paying for airfare for six people! We grabbed our suitcases and headed for the cruise terminal, where boarding began…
